The name of the Lord versus the blood of Jesus which one should christians use while praying

Share

Many a times I hear christians say the blood of Jesus cover us, and when I ask them why they use the blood of Jesus instead of the name of Jesus. They quote the scripture which says “And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.” Exodus 12:13

Now this happened before Jesus Christ was sent to us. After Jesus Christ came, the scripture says we should use his name while praying. In Romans 14:11 the bible says for it is written, as I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. Some translations will say at the mention of the Name Jesus every shall bow and every tongue shall tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord.

We do not need the blood of Jesus to cover us, he already did that on the cross of calvary to wash away our sins. All we need is the name of the lord. The scripture also made us to understand that “the name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous runs into it and is safe.”  Proverb 18:10

There’s no place in the bible where the bible says we should cover ourselves with the blood of Jesus.
