When i was much younger, the devil always played a funny trick on me simply because unlike most young girls I didn’t see my menses on time. So he will say to me; you know you can’t have children If you do not see your menses right? And every time that thought came to my mind, I would be so afraid. We overcame the devil by the blood of lamb and by the words of our testimonies.
What are you afraid for? what is that thing that gives you sleepless night. Are you afraid of the unknown?, Are you afraid that your rent would soon expire and your landlord would throw you out simply because you can’t afford to pay your rent anymore? Are you afraid because of the Doctors report? (Whose report should we believe anyway) Romans 3:4 says :
Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar. As it is written:
“So that you may be proved right when you speak
and prevail when you judge.
I shall believe the report of the Lord. We are living in the world full of contrasting reports. Satan and the world’s system give their report while God and his servants give a different report. … If man gives you a report which is contrary to the word of God, “let God be true and every man a liar
Many people are afraid for many reasons. The dictionary defines fear as a feeling induced by perceived danger or threat that occurs in certain types of organisms, which causes a change in metabolic and organ functions and ultimately a change in behavior, such as fleeing, hiding, or freezing from perceived traumatic events.
Now the acronym for FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real. There’s no true threat of immediate physical danger, no threat of a loss of someone or something dear to us, actually nothing there at all.
The devil uses fear to inflict pain on us. The devil is very tricky, he knows he has no power over us, so he puts fear in us and makes us lose faith in God. Remember that fear is the opposite of faith.
But like the saying; to every problem, there’s a solution. One way to overcome fear is by speaking God’s word concerning that situation that is making you afraid.
Another way is to put our trust in God. Once we have learned to put our trust in God, we will no longer be afraid of the things that come against us.
For the scriptures says; if God is for us, who can be against us?
No one is perfect, and God knows this. That is why He has liberally sprinkled encouragement against fear throughout the Bible. Beginning in the book of Genesis and continuing throughout the book of Revelation, God reminds us to “Fear not.”
Isaiah 41:10 says: “ fear not, for I am with you; Be anxious for nothing, for I am your God I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
Often we fear the future and what will become of us. But Jesus reminds us that God cares for the birds of the air, so how much more will He provide for His children? “So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows” (Matthew 10:31).
