Mark Hurd, a Co-CEO of Oracle and former chief executive of Hewlett-Packard, 2 of Silicon Valley’s most storied firms died on Fri Oct eighteen at the age of sixty two.

Hurd died weeks when asserting that he was taking a medical leave of absence from the corporate he started co-leading in 2014. He served aboard Safra Catz, who conjointly has the title of chief executive.

“Mark was my shut and irreplaceable friend, and sure colleague,” Ellison aforementioned during a memorandum to Oracle staff that was announce on Mark Hurd’s personal web site.

Mr. Hurd who was born in New York City, joined Oracle in 2010 when resigning his role as Hewlett Packard Chief executive on August 6 that year. The computer maker’s board had investigated Hurd over his relationship with a feminine contractor. Though the board found Hurd didn’t violate company’s policy relating to sexual-harassment, it found he desecrated company standards by submitting inaccurate expense reports to hide the connection.
