Luis Enrique has been re-appointed as the manager of Espana.
His re-appointment comes simply 5 months after he quit his role as Espana manager when his girl, Xanita, 9, died from bone cancer in August.
Spanish soccer Federation (RFEF) president Luis Rubiales confirmed his return saying ‘the doors of the federation and also the national team will remain open to him’.
At a group discussion on Tues, Luis Rubiales said: ‘Today we are able to ensure that Luis Enrique will come to his position.’
Enrique’s assistant, Robert Moreno, took charge in his absence and oversaw Spain’s march to the Euro 2020 finals.
Rubiales also added that ‘Luis Enrique will opt for his own employees.’
Enrique who first took charge of Espana for the first time in July last year won eight of ten matches and fell to 2 defeats to European nation and Hrvatska throughout his previous tenure.
The 49-year-old, who was formally the coach of Spanish giants, Barcelona, can currently lead Espana to next year’s European Championship finals and 2022 tournament in Qatar.
